Safe Behavior on Social Media
First Transnational Meeting in Apeldoorn

On May 31 and June 1, the partners of the project “Protecting Teenagers from Antisocial Behaviour on Social Media” gathered for their first Transnational Meeting in the lovely Dutch city of Apeldoorn, known not only for one of the best-preserved royal palaces in the country with a gorgeous rhododendron park and the Kröller-Müller art museum, but also for Apenheul — the world’s first innovative monkey zoo of its kind. Many of the animals there move freely among the visitors.

Our two-day session was full of action, ideas, and planning. Representatives from FENAN Consulting (Netherlands), MySociety (Netherlands), and More Mosaic (Sweden) took part.

May 31 was dedicated to the final preparations for the workshop on June 1 and getting to know Apeldoorn.

On June 1, after the training session, we focused on:

  • discussing the experience gained during the workshop (feedback received from participants and facilitators, our reflections on the organization, delivery and venue
    administration issues, etc.);
  • preparing for the upcoming EDULEARN25 conference, taking place from June 30 to July 2, 2025 (https://iated.org/edulearn), and discussing the type of contribution;
  • discussing the upcoming Swedish workshop and its format;
  • as well as a more detailed development of our social media activities and the plan for
    creating the educational program “Protecting Teenagers on Social Media” and the professional network “Online Safety Network for Teenagers”.

We also agreed on what should be prepared for our next Transnational Meeting in Stockholm, August 20–24.
